"Our wines, especially our Pinot Noir and our Pinot Blanc, are like "Pure Pinots" in that they reflect the pure Michigan where they are grown, fermented and bottled.  Yes, they are as good as Oregon Pinots or California Pinots or even French Pinots but they should not be compared to them because our Michigan pinots have their own basis in Michigan terroir.  You can't take the Michigan from the soul of our wines.  You can taste the Michigan in the wine."

"We have been drinking California Chardonnay now for years and were convinced up until now that the Californians had the best Chardonnay. I say up until now because you just changed our tainted opinion.  Then my wife and I tasted your Reserve Chardonnay. Our eyes met at the same time with an expression of disbelief on our faces. This was different than anything we had tasted that day. Way different. With some urgency we asked for another taste and then purchased a glass to sit on the deck and ponder with.  WOW, we could not believe what we were experiencing. This is some good juice. No, this is some fantastic incredibly delicious Chardonnay, even BETTER  than a lot of the California wine that we drink.!

We split a case with our friends to bring home and opened one of the bottles last night just to see if we got the same reaction.  Yes, we even got a better reaction and can report that you have now converted us to Hawthorne Reserve Chardonnay drinkers, a Michigan wine! Congratulations to the owners, wine makers and staff that put this wine together. We will be back soon for more cases."

Keith Reame, Grand Rapids, MI

"The nose is mildly expressive, with zesty lemon in the forefront. The palate is a shows more intensity, offering juicy peach notes supported by a silky texture. Having spent eight months in 35% new oak, this trends toward a fruitier-style Chardonnay, with oak lending textural support." Alex Peartree, Wine Enthusiast
