Red Wines

Cabernet Franc/Merlot

Merlot 46%, Cabernet Franc 54%

Gold Medal - 2017 Tasters Guild International Wine Competition

A marriage of two Bordeaux varietals that when blended together form a wine more complex than their individual parts.  This Cabernet heavy blend has aromas of tobacco, plum, and oak spice.  The oak is integrated with the fruit to provide structure to match the fruit. Aged 33 months in 100% French Oak.

Reserve Merlot

Crafted from one of the warmest vintages on record, this exceptional selection of deliciously rich and dense Merlot displays dark fruit aromas of blackberry and cassis, blended with toasted oak notes from 18 months of aging in French barrels. Aged 18 months in French oak barrels.

Bruce's Blend Pinot Noir

This special reserve Pinot Noir was selected from the best barrels in our Reserve Pinot Noir program by winery founder, Bruce Hawthorne.  Aged in 60% new French oak barrels, the wine displays complex aromas of dried fruit, black currant, and clove.  On the palate, a hint of black tea is rounded out by a soft black cherry finish.  An age-worthy wine that will build complexity over the next 5-10 years.

Gamay is the same grape varietal grown in France to create Beaujolais.  A fruity Gamay with aromas of blackberry and spice with restrained tannins that have a soft structure for easy drinking that pairs delightfully with salmon, chicken, or game dishes.

This blend is made in the saignée method to enhance the pink hues and notes of raspberry and Michigan strawberries.

Cherry Splendor

Silver Medal, 2016 Michigan Wine Competition

Blended from our own juicy Balaton and Montmorency cherries, this splendid sweet fruit wine brings Northern Michigan's move prevalent fruit crop to your table. By fermenting tart cherry varietals, we add more depth and complexity to the blend. Serve well chilled and enjoy!

Pinot Noir

Just a hint of spice from partial oak aging highlights the bright strawberry and ripe cherry fruit notes found in this Pinot Noir. Barrel aged in French Oak.

Reserve Pinot Noir

This Pinot Noir expresses dark cherry, strawberry, and cinnamon aromas followed by flavors woven with spice from oak aging which meld with ripe tannins and acidity. Aged 19 months in French oak barrels.

Crafted from an Austrian varietal grown on Old Mission Peninsula named Lemberger, or Blaufränkisch, these grapes have a dark, midnight blue color and produce bold wines with plenty of plum, cherry and black pepper flavor. Rounded out by the raspberry notes of fruit in the background, black pepper aromas are the hallmark of this grape combined with the smoky toast of the barrel.
